Week 7 is upon us. The Mustangs have a 3 game winning streak but they are hungry for more. The Homecoming festivities will be exciting going into the game Friday night against Fossil Ridge but please remember that the team needs your support for the entire game. Last week was an exciting game that brought the Mustang fans to their feet. We heard you guys loud and clear on the field. Let’s do it again and make it a big party at Mustang Stadium!
The media is starting to take notice but the Mustangs know what it’s like to be 0-10 so they’re taking each game one at time. Complacency is not an issue. Coach Henigan divides the season in 3 game segments meaning his goal is to win 2 out of 3 consecutive games; a new segment starts this week.
“The leadership on this team has been tremendous.” says Coach Henigan. “These guys have really impressed me, and they are fun to coach.” To paraphrase what Coach said this morning at the breakfast, “When Keller scored to take the lead towards the end of the game last week, our kids did not put their heads down. They went out there and executed, and that was the difference in the game.”
The lesson this week is that we must shut the door on our opponents; we can’t let the other team get back in the game. Every game presents a new lesson for these guys; we are building on each game.
The picture of the week has to be the celebration by the players during the singing of the alma mater after the game. The joy and energy in their faces paints a picture that most of have not seen in the last 4 years. I am talking about the class of 2010. I will say it again…”Change….Conflict….Growth.” It has been pure fun watching and experiencing the Growth of this team!
GO MUSTANGS!
